Doyle Dean Dickson Obituary

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church here for Major Doyle Dickson, 34, formerly of Glidden, who died Wednesday evening at the Lackland Air Force Base Hospital in San Antonio, Tex. The Rev. Clarence P. Hughes will be in charge.

Major Dickson will be buried with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Post of Glidden and a firing squad, chaplain and bugler from Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. The body will arrive in Carroll at 10:45 p.m. Monday and will be taken to the Huffman Funeral Home in Glidden, to remain until the time of the church rites. The family is expected to arrive Wednesday afternoon.

Major Dickson, who made the army his career, was based in New Mexico. His death was caused by a blood disease.

He is survived by his wife, the former Phyllis Allen of Glidden; four children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dickson of Redfield, one brother and one sister.
