Carol Mae Vaughan Obituary

Carol Mae Vaughan, 79, of Independence, MO died Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Grove’s Nursing Home in Independence, MO.

Carol was born on October 19, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to Edgar Leon and Edna Mae (Edrington) Heck. She married William M. Vaughan in 1959; he preceded her in death on May 16, 2008.

Survivors include, two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Brenda Vaughan of Rayville, MO and Bruce and Sherry Vaughan of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Cheryl Huffman of Sugar Creek, MO; four brothers, Bill Heck of Olathe, KS, Buddy Heck of California, Jimmy Crouser of Kanas City, MO and Delbert Crouser of Kaluai Kona, HI; three sisters, Barbara Heck Blake of Overland Park, KS , Joanne Crouser of Kansas City, MO and Corrine Crouser McVey of Cape Girardeau, MO; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by one sister, Charlene Russell; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Nations.

Carol worked for over 20 years for Circle K Convenient Stores before retiring as a Zone Manager in 2000. She had lived in the Kansas City area most of her life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Carol M. Vaughan memorial fund.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date.
