William A. Cutler Obituary

Funeral services for William Albert Cutler, 86, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Hugh McKinney will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 17.

Mr. Cutler, husband of the late Mary Lucille Young Cutler, died Friday, December 18, 2009. Born in Milford, Ohio, he was a son of the late Victor H. and Elsie Mae Duckett Cutler. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II and served in the USO Entertainment. He was member of the American Legion Post 17 and Kershaw Masonic Lodge #29.

Mr. Cutler was a professional drummer, dancer and singer, having performed with Andy Griffith, Carol Chewing, Patty Paige, Martha Ray, and on the WNOK TV Show. He also sang at the National Baptist Convention held in the Carolina Opera. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was beloved father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family.

Surviving are his sons, Michael Y. Cutler and his wife Drusilla of Lugoff, Kenneth M. Cutler of Camden, and Stephen O. Cutler and his wife Julie of Austin, Texas; sister, Mary D. Hearn and her husband Charles W. of Charlotte, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. He was predeceased by a son, Jack T. Cutler.
